Husqvarna Automower Nera Robot Mower Features

As we anticipate the release of the Husqvarna Automower NERA in 2023, here are some features that the mower is coming with:

Satellite Navigation

The Husqvarna automower NERA makes use of satellite navigation to work within virtual boundaries.

This unprecedented control enables private garden owners to dictate the area to mow, when, and at what height.

EPOS Plug-in Kit

Because the mower does not use physical boundary cables, the EPOS plug-in kit acts as an accessory to mow lawns that are up to 5,000 m2.

Automower Connect App

The three models of the Husqvarna automower NERA use the Automower Connect app to ensure more remote operation and also cater to lawns that measure from 2200m2-5000m2

Other Husqvarna robotic models that also use this app include Husqvarna 115H, 430XH models CEORA EPOS 544, and EPOS 550H.

Connectivity

The Husqvarna Automower Nera 400 series makes use of the Automower Connect via 4G while the 320 model uses a Wi-Fi connection.

Cutting Height

They have cutting options that range from 2cm-6cm to enable homeowners to cut their grass to an ideal grass height.

Low Noise Operation

The Husqvarna Automower NERA maintains a low-noise operation. This means that you will be able to mow at any hour of the day without disturbing the peace of the neighborhood.

What is Its Working Mechanism?

The new Husqvarna Automower Nera works with satellite navigation to work within virtual boundaries.

It is powered by batteries and can mow precisely down to 2-3 cm on rough grounds and with slopes with up to fifty percent inclination.

Its installation, stay-out zones, and defining work areas are managed via the Husqvarna Automower Connect App.

For the mower to work without physical boundary cables, homeowners may need to get an EPOS plug-in kit as a separate accessory. Their EPOS technology via connection will also help to place virtual barriers.

The NERA 320 which is the first model of the Husqvarna Automower NERA makes use of a wifi connection while the other two models (NERA 430X and 450X) have 4G link capabilities.

This mower model can be easily cleaned with a garden hose.

Both Husqvarna NERA robot mowers from the 400 series are equipped with objects based on radar technology to allow them to identify and avoid objects such as gardening tools and toys.

Is the Husqvarna Automower NERA an Upgrade on An Existing Robotic Mower?

Husqvarna-Automower-Nera

Yes. NERA’s EPOS (Exact Positioning Operating System) wireless satellite navigation system is a game-changer in the robotic mower space, especially for private yard owners.

Its use of virtual boundaries makes it easy to decide the height, when, and where to mow. The robotic mower is developed to improve the mowing tasks of private garden owners.

While several existing robotic mowers such as Husqvarna 115H, Husqvarna 315 and GARDENA 15201-41 SILENO Minimo mower use a physical boundary wire, the Husqvarna Automower Nera is complemented by an EPOS plug-in kit that is purchased as an accessory to enable it to operate without physical boundary wires.

Although recent Husqvarna robot mower models such as Husqvarna EPOS 550H and Husqvarna CEORA 544 and 546 models also come with EPOS technology to prevent the use of boundary wires, the Husqvarna Automower NERA is regarded as the “first virtual boundary robotic lawn mower for private gardens”.

Husqvarna EPOS and CEORA robot mower models are best suited for consumer users while the Husqvarna Automower NERA is built for private garden owners.

Here is a well-detailed head-to-head comparison of Husqvarna NERA vs Husqvarna CEORA robotic lawn mowers:

Design

Both Husqvarna Automower NERA and CEORA come with unique features that ensure a remarkable mowing performance.

The NERA and CEORA, and EPOS models share similarities with the use of EPOS technology. With the Exact Positioning Operating System, the two Husqvarna robot mowers have eliminated the use of boundary cable laid along the edges of the lawn.

This satellite-based technology allows them to work within their virtual boundaries. They also use Husqvarna’s automower connect the app to allow for more remote operation.

Furthermore, the Husqvarna automower connect app allows you to change the mower’s schedules and settings from wherever you are. They are both controlled by GPS.

Other features of Husqvarna Automower NERA include a satellite navigation system, object avoidance feature, wifi connection and 4G link capabilities.

Other features of the Husqvarna CEORA 544 and 546 models include built-in sensors, safety lights, a pro user interface and an appDrive feature.

Power Source

Both Husqvarna robotic mowing machines are powered by batteries to ensure quiet and eco-friendly mowing operation.

Cutting Performance

The three models of the Husqvarna automower Nera are capable of handling 2200m2 -5000m2 lawns.

On the other hand, the 2022-released Husqvarna CEORA mower (544 and 546 models) can perform well because it can handle lawns that are up to 40,000m2-50,000m2

The Husqvarna Automower Nera works well on rough terrain while the Husqvarna CEORA is perfect for golf courses, sports pitches, and wide-open grass areas. The CEORA model can also perform well on semi-rough grounds

In terms of cutting heights, the Automower Nera models have a cutting height of 2cm-6cm while the Husqvarna CEORA 544 and 546 models have a 20mm-70mm cut height. This means that the Husqvarna Ceora will ensure more cutting flexibility in terms of adjustment.

While the Husqvarna NERA can work well on rough terrain with slopes with up to 50% inclination, the Husqvarna CEORA like the 544 EPOS model has a 20-percent maximum slope performance inside the installation and a 15-percent maximum slope performance at the boundary.

The two Husqvarna mower models share the similarity of navigating with a precision of 2-3cm.

Weight

The two Husqvarna robotic mowing machines differ in terms of weight. The Husqvarna Automower NERA weighs up to 12.6kg for the 320 model, and 14.6kg and 14.9kg for the 430X and 450X models respectively.

On the other hand, the Husqvarna CEORA 544 and 546 models weigh 72kg and 38kg respectively. This shows that the Husqvarna NERA mower is lighter than its other two counterparts.

Cost

The cost of a Husqvarna CEORA mower is between the range of $19,109 to $23,000 while the Husqvarna Automower NERA’s price is unknown because it is yet to be released.

Accessories

The Husqvarna Automower NERA is supported by an EPOS plug-in kit to enable it to operate without boundary wires.

On the other hand, the Husqvarna CEORA (made up of EPOS 544 and 546 models) offers a full line of accessories such as EPOS Reference station, charging station CEORA (for 544 EPOS), CEORA RAZOR 43M (for 544 EPOS), EPOS attachment kit ( for 546 EPOS) and active wheel brush kit (for 546 EPOS).

Ease of Maintenance

The two Husqvarna mowers are easy to maintain. They do not require checking of oil, oil filters, air cleaners, and engine oils, replacement of spark plugs, and changing of oil.

For the two robotic mowers, maintenance during the season is limited to cleaning and changing blades.

If you want to clean the Husqvarna Automower NERA, all you need is to use a garden hose to clean it.

For the Husqvarna CEORA mower, easy handling and maintenance are made possible by the mowing deck service position.

The mower’s deck can be tilted for easy access to exchange the cutting discs and to ensure easy cleaning.
